A great deal of what clinicians were taught about autistic and ADHD clients was designed to make
those clients easier for other people to be around.

This training is about the alternative.

I am a Black, trauma-trained Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker and EMDRIA-certified
therapist. My clinical practice is neurodivergent-affirming: masking is not a treatment goal, and
compliance is not evidence of progress. I train teams across the country on what that means in
practice rather than as a value statement.

What the training covers

What neurodiversity-affirming practice actually requires — and what it rules out.

Why masking is a cost rather than a skill, what long-term masking does to a nervous system, and how
autistic burnout gets misread as depression, treatment failure or non-compliance.

How autistic and ADHD presentations differ in women, in Black and brown clients, and in adults
diagnosed late or never diagnosed at all.

The overlap between neurodivergence and trauma, and why the two are so often mistaken for each other.

Demand avoidance, and why the standard behavioural response makes it worse.

Sensory needs, communication differences and interoception as clinical information rather than
inconvenience.

Practical adjustments to intake, session structure, environment and documentation — the things that
change whether a neurodivergent client stays in treatment.

Where compliance-based approaches came from, what the autistic community says about them, and what
that means for how your organisation practises.

Who it is for

Clinical teams and agencies. Schools and school-based staff. Early intervention and developmental
disability services. Medical teams. Mental health providers, Medical Providers, community mental health, teachers, parents, caregivers, and family members. Groups of clinicians organizing their own training. Useful
whether your team is new to this or has been using the language without changing the practice.
